I had a great time shooting some pictures this past weekend for a family that I’ve known for many years, the Butler Family.  I spent several years serving and attending their youth group while I was in high school.  Had some great times times and made some life long friends during that time while serving under Pastor Ken & Christy.  Thank you all for everything!

We discussed a few locations to use for their session but in the end decided to use their new property they recently purchased.  They’ll soon be building their future home here so I was pretty excited to see it.  I’m always a little nervous to shoot somewhere I’ve never been before but they really turned out great!

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the annual event, OSP South. I’ve been the last three years and this year it was held in Macon, GA at Inward Studio. We all really appreciate them letting us use their studio for our workshop for the week.

I’d really like to thank Neal, Heather, Ginger and all the speakers who helped make this even happen. I think I speak for all who attended when I say…Thank you all for a great week of learning, fellowship, shooting and great memories!!

At last I can post some pictures that I took on set of my friend Brent’s film, “The RIFT.” He’s currently competing in an online film competition called The Doorpost Film Project. His film premiered last week but viewing and voting started today and will go through the 16th. Please go watch the film and vote if you have the chance. I know he would appreciate it.

I’m real excited to post these because I’ve never had the chance to take stills on a film set. My first time however also involved staying up all night on set because the movie was filmed from sunset to sunrise. I was tired but had a great time! I was also honored to work with some really great people and look forward to shooting more if I get the chance.

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting an event at The Vault Mediterranean in Fort Worth. A new painting by The Vault’s exclusive artist, Lynx was unveiled. The painting was tribute to Van Cliburn, the founder of The Cliburn piano competition. If your not familiar with The Cliburn, it’s essentially the World Cup of piano competitions. It’s held every four years at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth because Van Cliburn is from Texas. The Vault happens to be the official restaurant of The Cliburn so I got to see live feed of the competition while I was there. I have to say it was the best piano playing I’ve ever seen (and this was only the semi-finals!!!). The last night of the competition will be held tonight at The Bass Hall.

Not only is The Vault one of my favorite restaurants, it’s also home to many paintings and sculptures from the artist Lynx. Please stop by to enjoy some amazing food and while your there check out Lynx’s great collection of art. I know you’ll love it.

Here’s the amazing painting that was unveiled by Lynx. Its hard to see cause it’s so dark but it’s Lynx’s amazing rendition of a piano. I was really impressed cause it incorporated paint and sculpture all together. If you notice, there is a sculpture of a person next to the piano. Van Cliburn had been known to say that the human voice was the first instrument so Lynx incorporated that element into his piece of art.

Lynx is seen to the right and the Regional from Steinway Pianos on the left. Steinway was a main sponsor of The Cliburn.

The Vault hired a cigar roller for the outside patio. Very cool to watch.

Hello again! Meet my friend Justin Brooks. He’s a Dallas singer/songwriter and I had the opportunity to take some pics with him this week. We got permission from one of his friends to use their downtown loft apartment in Dallas. I was so excited cause afterward I got to eat at my favorite Italian place in downtown, Porta de Roma.
