Lynx, The Cliburn & The Vault – together at last!
Last week I had the pleasure of shooting an event at The Vault Mediterranean in Fort Worth. A new painting by The Vault’s exclusive artist, Lynx was unveiled. The painting was tribute to Van Cliburn, the founder of The Cliburn piano competition. If your not familiar with The Cliburn, it’s essentially the World Cup of piano competitions. It’s held every four years at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth because Van Cliburn is from Texas. The Vault happens to be the official restaurant of The Cliburn so I got to see live feed of the competition while I was there. I have to say it was the best piano playing I’ve ever seen (and this was only the semi-finals!!!). The last night of the competition will be held tonight at The Bass Hall.
Not only is The Vault one of my favorite restaurants, it’s also home to many paintings and sculptures from the artist Lynx. Please stop by to enjoy some amazing food and while your there check out Lynx’s great collection of art. I know you’ll love it.

Here’s the amazing painting that was unveiled by Lynx. Its hard to see cause it’s so dark but it’s Lynx’s amazing rendition of a piano. I was really impressed cause it incorporated paint and sculpture all together. If you notice, there is a sculpture of a person next to the piano. Van Cliburn had been known to say that the human voice was the first instrument so Lynx incorporated that element into his piece of art.
Lynx is seen to the right and the Regional from Steinway Pianos on the left. Steinway was a main sponsor of The Cliburn.
The Vault hired a cigar roller for the outside patio. Very cool to watch.
